The early morning was cold and wet. It was the type of weather where anyone would rather stay in bed than walk around Canberra's second most famous lake. But I had made a promise to myself, that I would walk the whole lake Ginninderra circuit. I would normally walk part way around it, get tired or my headphones would die and I'd walk back.

A scenic walk that loops around the lake, there are many starting points to choose from. There are lovely parks, picnic areas, and man-made beaches along the way—but keep in mind that if you want to loop the whole lake, it's around 7km. There is plenty of parking here although it can get quite busy on weekends. Additional parking can be found on Beissel Street. Sit on one of the many benches in the park and watch the swans and ducks as they enjoy the lake. The park has lots.

This is a pleasant, easy walk around the Lake Ginninderra. We will walk clockwise around the Lake. A good chance to spot various water birds. All on track. Meet at 6.30 pm and parking at the lake end of Townsend Place, near the John Knight Memorial Park. You may need a torch for the return journey depending on how fast we walk.
